英语作为一种交流工具是需要学生在课堂学习时大胆表达,以展示自己的观点和想法。但是往往很多学生在英语课堂上不敢表达,究其原因,大约有以下几点:1、My level is too low.
2、The topic is boring.
3、People laugh when I speak because of my accent.
4、I’m afraid of making mistakes.
5、It takes me ages to think of what to say.
6、It’s stupid speaking English to people who speak Chinese.
7、The teacher forces me to speak and I hate it.
8、I am shy and hate speaking in front of the whole class.
9、I don’t understand what I have to do or say.
10、 My partner is better than me, so I shut up.
在今天的课堂上,Tony老师首先让我们自己来向如何来解决问题。经过小组合作讨论,我们也得出了一些方法。
1、 Allow them to practice; Give them a lot of time; Put them into groups to check how to say.
2、 Give the students some pronunciation exercises.
3、 Write the instructions on the board.
4、 Praise the students often.等等。
Tony老师表示赞同。但是他在好几个问题里一直建议我们to break the task down into smaller parts.(把学习任务分割成几个小的部分)。这也不断在提醒我,当我们遇到学习暂时有困难的学生时,不要着急,一步一步地来,从小的、简单的学习任务开始做起,慢慢达成学习目标。
之后,Tony又给我们列举了一些常用的Speaking activity types.
1. Talk about your favourite bands
2、plan a holiday together
3. Role play in a restaurant
4. Describe and draw a picture
5, Listen and repeat a dialogue
6. Complete a questionnaire
7. Follow a model sentence
8. Retell a story
9. Read an article aloud
10. Explain how to cook a dish
11. Find someone who…
12. Asking for direcions to a place
其实在其中方法我们的牛津教材上已经有所体现,比如12.在牛津英语教材7B U3上就有这样的一个口语表达要求。如何能够在课堂上利用好这些方法,从而提高学生的英语口语表达能力,让每一次的英语交流活动有效,这还需要不断地探索和实践。Tony同时也给我们老师提出了一些课前备课要求以及课堂活动时的作为教师的要求。
1、 Make it clear what the speakers have to do and say.
2、 Check they know what language items are most useful.
3、 Give students thinking and planning time.
4、 Allow a rehearsal.
5、 Have flexible outcomes that depend on the participants.
6、 Have an outcome so the speakers know if they have achieved the task successfully or not.

8、 Use a variety of speaking strategies.
9、 Provide phrase-level language practice.
10、 Build up tp a cpmplex task in small logical stages.
学生英语口语表达能力的提高,需要老师和学生共同的不懈努力。如果每一节课的口语活动都能认真仔细设计,教师不断鼓励学生克服自身的不自信和羞涩,相信一定会有效果。
